Alison Curtis Jones MA, BA(Hons), PGCE(QTS)

Ali is a dynamic, creative dance specialist renowned for her expertise in facilitating and developing the creative potential, technical and performance skills of accomplished dancers and aspiring young artists.

With twenty years teaching experience, Ali is a highly skilled and passionate dance practitioner.

Specialist skills include Laban's Principles and Practice, Choreological Studies, Contemporary Technique, Performance Skills, Choreographic Practice and Teaching Studies, with diverse experience of the integration and application of dance theory and practice in a number of educational contexts.


Alison Curtis Jones joined the teaching faculty at the internationally recognised Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, London, in 2003.


Ali's technique classes are based on her extensive research of Laban's work and in-depth knowledge of choreological principles which she integrates in contemporary dance training and the devising of choreographic practice.


Ali's research includes the re-creation of Rudolf Laban's iconic dance theatre works Die Nacht, (1927)performed in 2010 and 2011, and Die Grunen Clowns, (1928), Green Clowns, re-created in 2008 and 2009 for Trinity Laban Undergraduate dancers.
